The trip started out with a bang when they were on the last flight to land at London Heathrow airport on Thursday due to a ash cloud in the UK airspace from a volcano erupting in Iceland. On that afternoon we did not know what was to come for air travel in the days to come throughout the UK and Europe!!!

A "tourist" stop at Harrod's, luxury department store, on Brompton Road in Knightsbridge, London. I did a little research on Harrod's...in 1985, Mohamed Al Fayed was one of the brothers that bought Harrods for £615 million. One of Mohamed's sons, Dodi Fayed, was in a relationship with Princess Diana and had purchased an engagement ring for her the day before they died. There are two memorial inside Harrod's in memory of them.
In addition, Harrod's has a total of 330 department stores and 28 restaurants. On peak days, up to 300,000 customers visit the store and more than 5,000 staff from over 50 different countries work at Harrod's.
A stop on our way to Kensington Gardens...we loved the pink door!
