This is too funny...I was teaching a Y5 class today at Three Bridges Primary School and these were the two new names that I can now add to my list of random names the students call me.
Here's how it all happened...I introduced myself to the class as Mrs. Westforth and I thought, Y5 they are all 9/10 years old and should be able to say Westforth. But not even a minute later, I had a student raise his hand and say, "Mrs. Waterford." I tried my hardest not to laugh and instead said to the class that they could call me Mrs. W. if that was easier. I had another student look at me and say, "Mrs. Debbie."
It was a priceless moment for me and if you could hear how the British pronounce the letter "w" it would make sense!
