Hello from Russia

I recently sent an email to our family and friends informing everyone of our safe arrival to our new home.  I just have to share a response I received.  Now I must share that the response was from a fellow Russian!  I also must tell you that he is hilarious and had much to say about us moving here (which included that he NEVER wants to move here).

My Dear Poor Americans,

Hope the first shock from being exposed to Mother Russia has already
passed. However don't relax yet, there will be many more shock waves to
come. Don't try to stay positive over there, it may be very misleading.
Even dudes like Napoleon and Hitler fail to face the reality of Russian
life and result is well known. You got to switch to the Russian
mentality and have a sober realistic outlook on everything that happens
on that mysterious land:
-if something is good - it cannot last long
-if it is bad - it always can get way worse

So to help you with a transition I'll start forming questions in Russian
manner:

How much worse it actually was comparatively to what you have expected?
What has been yours the worst experience so far?
Was there anything positive at all?
How you don't like your apartment?
How you don't like the neighborhood you are living in?

Stay alive and stay in touch

I'm hoping that gives a perspective of things here!!  I have another email from him after my response to the above, but I thought it was probably best to not share it unless anyone got offended the Russians have me bugged!!
