Life is Good

It was a good day today in Moscow, even though there might have been protests going on with the election of Putin as President; I still had a good day (and avoided such areas).  I met a lovely new (British) friend for lunch and then had a mommies night out!!  It was a chilly day, and rather than taking a taxi to get me to and from location(s) with ease, I managed to take the metro and even walked to get to some unfamiliar areas for me, so pretty impressed with myself and actually enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the train and VERY brisk walk home from the metro in the fresh air.  Back to mommies night out, there were 7 of us that were able to make it and we went to Mamo Tao, a chinese restaurant, that had very good dumplings and tasty crispy duck (which I've always wanted to try).  We had a great time-chatting away nonstop, laughing and being able to catch up without the kiddos.

When I got home and had the run-down with Chris on his evening with Cayden, it was so sweet to hear him tell me what he made him for dinner and how they played Peek-a-Boo and Hide and Seek.  He must have had lots of fun with daddy and exhausted himself as after he had his bedtime bottle, Chris went to go rinse the bottle out and turned around and Cayden was already asleep in his high chair!!!

Ok, so on to the title of my blog post, Life is Good!!  You know when I get asked the question if I like living in Moscow, it's REALLY hard to respond negatively to that because we are so very fortunate and as one of my friends here says, "things could be worse"!  And you start to think, yes they could be and yes, there are days when things are tough, you may feel alone, but actually all in all our life is good, extremely good.

In saying that, here is some of the goodness coming up:

trip to Dubai for Cayden's 1st birthday end of March
1st visitor arriving in beginning of April
trip to London in May/June for a friend's "hen-do" and wedding weekend(s)
mom & dad Batusic visit Moscow in June
counting on a summer trip back to the US in July
Uncle Ray from California visits in August
hopeful on a fall family vacation with the 3 of us to somewhere new
