The Russian Language

So, after a month of living in Moscow we decided it's time to start to figure things out, most importantly speaking and reading Russian.

Our first lesson with a Russian language tutor was today and after a 3 hour session, I have to admit it was productive AND I feel alot better about my feelings about Moscow!  AND even better that I'll be able to communicate very soon (of course, with some practice, dedication, doing my homework and using Rosetta Stone)!!

Chris, however, had to leave after the first half hour so we shall see how this all works out for him?!?!  He wasn't seeming SO interested this morning, when his question to her consisted of, "What is the quickest way for me to learn Russian?" and coupled with the fact he's been here almost 9 months without learning any Russian!!

We have agreed to do our lessons twice a week for 1 1/2 - 2 hours.

1.) Learn the alphabet, including how to say the letters and sound out the letters.

2.) Do homework.  Learn how to say general things (notice there is not pronunciation shown-which means she wants me to use what I learned from sounding out the letters to figure it out) AND then figure out what the English translation is of the Russian phrases at the bottom.

3.) Start using the Rosetta Stone program.
