We can't believe we have been living here for 6 months, 1/2 year!! I think we can both say that we feel more and more like this is home (well, our overseas home that is) and not just a long vacation. Although, I'm pretty sure as soon as Chris started working here, he didn't think he was on vacation!! We have so much to look forward to over the next 6 months, that we have no doubt the time will continue to fly by!! We leave tomorrow morning to head to Brussels for the weekend and then we'll have our ski trip to Austria to look forward to in a few weeks!!
As for each of us:
Chris-He continues to be VERY busy at work and is still pulling crazy hours. I'm not sure there is much more to say about his schedule, expect his work hours...he spends his weekends, catching up on sleep and enjoying being outside. Since he spends so much time indoors, at his desk, he gets very anxious each weekend to be outside, doing something. I'm happy to say that right now he is still not working on the weekends, WELL, at least not going into his office just working on his computer from the couch. I think he is very excited to have three days off work for our ski trip!!
Lisa-I am still supplying teaching and enjoying the new adventures that each school day has to offer. This last month, I had one class with 18 students and it was wonderful, usually the class sizes are 30-32 students and sometimes I just feel like I'm babysitting rather than being able to teach, especially because sometimes there is such a broad range of ability levels in the classes. Also, I taught a Year 1 class at an all-girls school, which was a class of 15 girls and they were so cute. The school was in Hampstead, which is a very nice area in London, and the school was really lovely. I got to eat "school dinner" (lunch) with the girls and typically the school dinners are really gross, but this school makes a different option for the staff which that day consisted of salmon, rice, salad, vegetables (it was very good and well worth it to not have to pack my lunch)!! At another school, I had a very rude student tell me, "Miss, why don't you go back to Australia or Canada or wherever you are from!" I absolutely couldn't believe it, although I'm sure I was reprimanding the student for some kind of poor choice/behavior!!
